About No. 08, Ceylon OP, non pesticide

New Vithanakande produces some of the finest teas in Sri Lanka.  Located near Ratnapura, the estate borders the Sinharaja Forest Preserve, a Unesco World Heritage Site, and the country's last viable primary rainforest. The proximity of this low-grown tea to the forest profoundly influences the character of the leaves, particularly the rich, caramel notes and crisp, clean profile.

This non-pesticide OP (Orange Pekoe) black tea additionally enjoys expressions of malt, along with orange blossom honey and gentle citrus, both simple and majestic much like Sri Lanka, while delicate notes of spice, reminiscent of the spices grown on the estate, linger on the palate. Each infusion produces the generous, rich copper brew one can expect from an excellent Ceylon tea.

Pour a cup, sit back and imagine yourself in Sri Lanka as the cool, morning fog rolls over the lush, green hillsides while the call of thousands of birds fill the air.
