About No. 104, Competition Shizuoka Gozen (organic)

Elegant, hand-plucked and rolled leaves of the deepest, most lustrous green. A masterful, organic and meticulously-crafted tea of the highest order from Mr. Konishi.

There are rare moments, upon tasting a tea, when you become keenly aware that you are experiencing something truly extraordinary. We had one of those moments with this tea, a combination of Yabukita and Sakuramidori cultivars harvested once a year using competition growing techniques as well as permanent growing techniques, from young tea bushes using the kabuse method.  The translucent, emerald brew is redolent with umami and profound oceanic notes. Fleshy, autumnal notes give way to a pleasant, delicate sweetness and hint of herbaceous shiso, culminating with a cooling sensation on the palate. The wet leaf suggests, subtle fruit-driven notes and a suggestion of rose. A confident, masterful tea of depth and power.

Packaged in 57g nitrogen flush sachets.

This may be one of the finest green teas you will ever have the pleasure of experiencing.
