The terrain of this mountainous region is rocky, and the terroir imparts a distinct mineral note to the teas.   Huang Mei Gui is a modern cultivar and cross between Huang Jin Gui (an Anxi oolong) and Huang Dan (a Phoenix 'dan cong' oolong) but processed in the Wuyi tradition.

Huang Mei Gui is a modern cultivar and cross between Huang Jin Gui (an Anxi oolong) and Huang Dan (a Phoenix 'dan cong' oolong) but processed in the Wuyi tradition. The tea enjoys fruity tropical notes followed by suggestions of lilac, toffee, and allspice. 

This tea was grown without pesticides, fertilizers or pesticides. 

Origin: Wuyi Shan, Fujian Province, China

Harvest: April-May 2021

    • brewing

      • 1 tsp per 8oz/250ml of water
      • 205°F/95°C (Bring cold, fresh spring water to a boil. Remove from heat, set aside for 45 seconds and proceed.)  
      • Brew 4-6 minutes  
      • Good for 3-4
