Azusa Amemiya’s beautiful work reminds one of celestial bodies. A moon of Saturn, a ridge on Venus, and evocative worlds yet to be discovered. Originally from the world of fashion, Azusa turned her unique eye and elegant sensibilities to the potter’s wheel. The conversation between different clays and glazes piqued her interest and in her words, “I kept at it”. 

She enjoys the freedom of choice as a ceramist, and deeply understands how a beautiful piece has the ability to elevate the environment, on a table, or a moment in hand. Deliciously tactile, her pieces implore us to touch, explore and contemplate while embracing them as functional, everyday pieces.
