About Spouted Porcelain Bowl Wood & Ash Fired

A fluid and organic spouted vessel in warm shades of desert hues, reminiscent of canyon walls and geologic striations within the earth, was hand-thrown by American studio potter Lilith Rockett.  This slip-textured piece was wood and soda fired for two continuous days.  

Lilith's work, created by hand on her potter's wheel in Portland,  Oregon, reveals a deep interest in exploring the qualities of the material: translucency, fluidity, density, and the velvety softness of an unglazed polished surface. Her refined forms and vessels call attention to subtle nuances of line and shadow, with a delight in the quiet imperfections that characterize the handmade.
