Siro Kohiki Cup


A gently speckled glaze adorns this charmingly faceted tea cup.  "Kohiki" is an ancient Japanese glazing technique.   A layer of white powder-clay is applied after biscuit firing the coarse, red clay, then fired a second time before applying a transparent glaze.

A gently speckled glaze adorns this charmingly faceted tea cup. "Kohiki" is an ancient Japanese glazing technique.  A layer of white powder-clay is applied after biscuit firing the coarse, red clay, then fired a second time before applying a transparent glaze. The result is a subtle grey hue with dark speckles and touches of pink. 

Made in Seto, Aichi, Japan

Care: Wash gently by hand.
